# Tech stack

> The runtime, tooling, and credits behind Celly — including the Kimaki project it is inspired by.

## Runtime

* **TypeScript** on **Node 24.x**, pinned via `engines` and `.nvmrc`.
* **[discord.js](https://discord.js.org) 14.x** for the Discord client,
  commands, and components.
* **[@opencode-ai/sdk](https://opencode.ai)** (exact-pinned) for the OpenCode
  server client.
* **`node:sqlite`** for the projects/threads database.
* **[Docker Sandboxes](https://www.docker.com/products/docker-sandboxes/)**
  (`sbx`) for the per-project microVM.
* **[OpenCode](https://opencode.ai)** as the agent server inside each sandbox.

## Tooling

* **vitest** for tests, **tsx** for development, **tsc** for the build.
* **Changesets** for versioning and release notes.
* **Mintlify** for this documentation site.

See [Architecture](/reference/architecture) for how these fit together and the
[module map](/reference/architecture#module-map) for where each concern lives.

## Credits and inspiration

Celly is inspired by **[remorses/kimaki](https://github.com/remorses/kimaki)**
(MIT). Celly reimplements Kimaki's core idea — channels as projects, threads as
sessions — and runs each project in an `sbx` sandbox instead of a local process.

Built on Docker Sandboxes (`sbx`) and OpenCode. Celly's own code is MIT; see
[LICENSE](https://github.com/LegendArtur/bot-celly/blob/main/LICENSE).
